8th Grade Activities
Our pie sale is starting on October 17. We are selling pies from Freund's Farm. The choices include apple, pumpkin, blueberry, fruit of the forest, peach and strawberry rhubarb. This year we will also include cookie dough, sweetbreads and chicken pot pie. See any 8th grader to place your order. Call Dolores Perotti or Stephanie Baldwin for information.
On October 31, the 8th grade will celebrate Day of The Dead by going to local cemeteries. They will come back to the school and enjoy a spanish luncheon prepared by the students.
Behavioral contracts were given out at a class meeting on Friday, October 21. These contracts must be signed and returned to the homeroom teacher. In addition, reservation forms for the class trip will be given to the students. These must also be returned. A $50 class trip deposits will be required by November 30.
The 8th grade has completed their research of possible destinations for their class trip. On Friday, October 28, they made their presentations and voted on a destination. We will be going to Washington, DC and Virginia.
Regional Dances at North Canaan are scheduled for December 9 and March 9. We will need parents to volunteer as chaperones.
In February, the 8th grade will be selling carnations for Valentine's Day.
